Rickey Boyd (b. August 19th, 1964) is the American Muppeteer who portrayed Rhubarb the GROUCH in A SESAME STREET Christmas Carol. His interest in animation & puppetry began at an early age. At 11 he & 1 of his friends produced their own crude TV puppet shows at a local cable access station & experimented w/ 8mm animated short films.

Most recently he has performed Cookie Monsters Grandma for SESAME Workshops SESAME Beginnings, Scooter & Crazy Harry in The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, & Waffle in Animal Jam. Other projects include Muppets from Space, including serving as the puppeteer for Animal, & Frank OZ looped the voices in post-production."Dinosaurs", Muppet*Vision 3D, The Muppets at Walt Disney World, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, "The JIM HENSON Hour", "Dog City" & " Song of the Cloud Forest", as well as various videos & commercial projects. Also, in addition to HENSON Productions, Rickey has performed lead characters for The Nashville Networks Peppercorn Productions.

Rickey Boyd continues to perform for HENSON & works as an animator & director for Magnetic Dreams Animation Studio in Nashville, Tenn. There, he designs & directs animations for clients such as SESAME STREET, among others. He lives outside Nashville w/ his wife Judy & their children Emily & Andrew.
